Subject: What was yours... Now is mine. Thu Aug 01, 2013 6:44 am
Monday Night Raw starts off with it's signature opening, as the fireworks are going off and the camera is on the commentators at the announce table JR and Jerry Lawler begin to speak.
Jim Ross
Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to Monday Night Raw coming to you live from the Resch Center in Green Bay. We are coming off of an explosive week and this week promises to be just as good if not better than the last.
Jerry Lawler
That's right JR. Last week we crowned a new WWF champion, Drew McIntyre! Now I can't help but feel bad for the former champion Rikishi, after successfully defending his title the night before in a ladder match against Drew he was made to defend it in a fatal 4 way against Drew McIntyre, Alberto Del Rio and the returning Cody Rhodes. And to make things even worse, he wasn't even pinned!
Jim Ross
Well don't feel to bad for him King because tonight Rikishi gets the chance to put some gold back around his waist when he fights none other than the WCW Heavyweight Champion, Christopher Daniels in tonight's main event. The winner of this match will not only walk away with the championship but will go on to face Drew at Summerslam to crown the first Undisputed champion!
Jerry Lawler
Yeah that sounds great, but if that wasn't enough, the Intercontinental Championship will also be on the line here tonight in a 60 minute fatal 4 way Iron man match featuring Daniel Bryan, Magnus, Justin Gabriel and of course the current champion Fandango. The winner of that will also go on to Summerslam to face Paul Wight for the title, I can't wait.
Jim Ross
Well unfortunately you're gonna have to King. To kick off the show tonight we have a stee...
JR is cut off as the lights dim down and a familiar yet different theme begins to play.
The lights dim down a little more and the crowd cheer slightly louder than before as they know who's about to come out.
Jerry Lawler
Well this is new...
The theme continues to play and the audience quiets down until the songs kicks into full gear and the lights come back on flashing gold and shades of orange and yellow around the arena.
"You're out of time, so say goodbye. What is yours... Now is mine!"
Jim Ross
Here is King, our new WWF Champion Drew McIntyre!
As these words are spoken the newly crowned WWF champion Drew McIntyre walks out onto the stage with the title around his waist. He stands for a moment taking in the cheers from the fans before doing his signature pose and begins walking down the ramp towards the ring grabbing a microphone as he passes the announcer booth. Drew stands in the ring for a few minutes smiling and waiting for the crowd to be quite so he can speak. When they finally do, Drew raises the mic to speak.
Drew McIntyre
They said that I dream broken dreams...
Drew lowers the mic still smiling as the audience once again break out into cheers and McIntyre chants. As they stop Drew begins again.
Drew McIntyre
Years ago, when I had arrived in WWE my dream was to hold the WWE championship. I wanted to be the best and holding that title meant that the holder was the best. Growing up it was the same, I never wanted to be a WWE superstar I wanted to be the WWE superstar. That never happened of course instead I became the guy who would sit in the back not wishing to be the one holding the title but wishing that I could actually get out and compete. I would get to come out every so often and compete but never how I wanted it. I would never get the chance to show off the talent that I possessed but I would be made to look small for others to show what they could do. I sat and watched as one of my best friends Sheamus would climb the ladder and hold the title that I wanted so much and fair play to him, he was talented and deserved it... But not as much as I did. I would watch superstars like him come out and perform in front of all you people having the time of his life while I and others like me would feel like we were stuck in hell. I never wanted to leave though, I figured that my time would come and I would get to show the world that I am the best but it just wasn't to be.
Drew lowers the mic and looks down at the title around his waist before speaking again.
Jerry Lawler
I guess it's another storytime with Drew... He didn't even warn us this time.
Jim Ross
Be quiet King.
Jerry Lawler
...
Drew McIntyre
When I arrived here I came with pretty much the same intentions, to be the best. On my first night here I knocked of the European champion. The week after I took out Edge, then the Intercontinental champion Godfather... then another and another and another. Six matches meant six wins, I was undefeated until I was stupid enough to challenge the WWF champion Road Dogg, I bet you all remember him. Even then I took him to his very limit and he only just got the better of me. Back then I knew it was only a matter of time until I would beat him just as he did me, eventually I did beat him... In a ladder match with two other men sure but I won nonetheless. Wait, lets go back just a little bit. A ladder match with two other men? Oh yeah it was only the European Champion the Miz and the Intercontinental Champion Rikishi. I went into that match as the underdog, the only man without gold around his waist and came out on top. If I wanted a title shot I could have demanded one at that very moment but I didn't and there's two reasons as to why that is; first being that I had my former friend and tag team partner Cody Rhodes along with his father trying their hardest to make my life hell, the other being that I knew I wasn't ready.
After pausing for a moment to look around at the fans Drew speaks again.
Drew McIntyre
Do you all think I'm ready now?
The fans cheer once more for the Scotsman and he speaks again.
Drew McIntyre
That's great! That is great, because I feel ready now, I feel worthy enough to hold this title and I feel like I've earned it. I'm not going to bore you all with the rest of the story because you've heard it all before, you've lived through it with me and you've supported me every step of the way and for that I thank you.
The McIntyre chants start again as Drew lowers the mic and begins to laugh. As the chants start to quieten down a little bit Drew raises the mic again.
Drew McIntyre
I'd like to talk about Rikishi for a moment if you all don't mind... The longest reigning champion we've had here in the company so far, he held the Intercontinental championship for 97 days before it was taken away by me. An impressive reign if I do say so myself which brought a lot of prestige to that title. Since I took it from him just a little over 3 months ago there have been 4 other people including myself which have held it... 4 different superstars in 3 months. All the prestige that Rikishi brought to that title is now gone and I'm to blame. Soon after you lost the Intercontinental championship you won this...
Drew holds up the WWF Championship
Drew McIntyre
You held this title for 63 days, not as long as the Intercontinental championship but still a very impressive run again ended by me. I will make sure that this title right here, the prestige you brought to this title, I will make sure that it won't end up the same as the Intercontinental. Whoever holds this title after me will need to bring their best and will need to earn it or it will not leave my side. That being said I will be defending it at Summerslam against one of two opponents. I will either be defending this title against the Current WCW Heavyweight Champion Christopher Daniels or I will be defending it against you should you take that title from him tonight. Over the past month leading up to Vengeance I lied to you, I said I respected you... I didn't. I respected what you stood for and what you had accomplished but I did not respect you. After Vengeance when I seen what you would do, what you would go through, how hard you would try to keep this title that changed. I do respect you now in fact I respect you more than just about everyone else in the back and that's why I'm not jumping around this ring right now celebrating that I have this title because truth be told I'm not happy about how I won it. I won the championship but I didn't beat the champion. So I am now going to wish you luck on your match tonight. Not because I think you need it but because I respect you and I want you to win. I want you to win so I can prove to myself that I can defend this championship the way you did, I want you to win because I think that you deserve to be in the main event of Summerslam and I want you to win... Because if I can't defend this title the way you did, I want you to be the one to take it from me.
The crowd begin to cheer as Drew finishes his sentence. Mixed cheers for Drew and Rikishi are heard throughout the arena.
Drew McIntyre
Now onto something everybody has been bugging me about... Cody Rhodes.
Drew lowers the mic and laughs a little before continuing.
Drew McIntyre
Isn't it just poetic that the very night that Cody Rhodes returns to Monday Night Raw I would pin him to win this title. We had this little awkward encounter backstage last week, you all saw it, it looked like Cody was coming onto me... Sorry man I don't swing that way. Anyway, he wished me luck. I was a little shocked myself at first but then he extended his hand just like at Wrestlemania where we had arguably the greatest match on the card, what was it you guys were chanting?
A few sections of the audience begin chanting "You stole the show!" and soon the rest of the audience join in. Once they stop Drew speaks again.
Drew McIntyre
We stole the show... I'm surprised you guys remembered after this long. After that brutal match Cody looked me straight in the eye and shook my hand in the center of the ring. I'd like to state right now that there is nothing but respect between myself and Cody. In fact I'd even go as far as to say that he...
Drew is cut off as Cody's theme music begins to play.
Cody Rhodes slowly reveals himself to Drew and the fans as the spotlight falls on him. The arena fills with cheer as Cody plants himself on the stage.
Cody Rhodes
Drew, Drew, Drew. . . Let me stop you right there. Before you go any further, I've got something to say. At Wrestlemania, we did in fact have an amazing match, we. . . (The crowd begins to chant) Stole the show! Of course, it was all thanks to me. . .I kid I kid. It was the both of us. Together we always put on amazing matches. Like the one at Saturday Night Main Event. Where you. . .well, you kicked my ass. You put me through THREE barricades! You had some anger to get out, I get it. But at the end of the night, I came out on top. Some say I 'stole' the win. Fine, maybe I did. But that's not the point. The point is that that was the highest rated match of the night. Hell, even our steel cage match at No Way Out was the second highest rated match of the night! And. . . Well, you beat me in what was it? (The crowd yells) FIVE MINUETS! Drew, last week, when I shook your hand, I meant it. When we battled in that fatal-4-way match, I gave it my all. But you did in fact come out on top, bravo! Congratulations. I'm happy for you, hooray, it's your birthday, viva la McIntyre! It's all fine and dandy Drew, but that's not why I'm out here. I'm out here, to make a proposal, not a prostitution.
Cody begins to walk down the ramp, smiling the whole way down. He continues to talk while he walks.
Cody Rhodes
You see, me and you, you and I, we're good together. There's no hiding it. I mean, just look at us. You got yourself. A former Intercontinental champion, the current WWF champion. Heading into the main event of SummerSlam, The Sinister Scotsman! Ruthless, straight forward and ready for a fight. Then you got myself. A former WCW tag team champion, the leader of possibly one of the most influential groups in the history of wrestling, RISE! -Drew cuts him off-
Drew McIntyre
*Co-leader.
Cody shakes his head.
Rhodes raises his mic again.
Cody Rhodes
Funny guy, yes, the *co-leader. My bad! As I was saying, I beat some of the best over on WCW, and hey I even set some records. *Cough* shortest TLC match in history *Cough* But through all of that Drew, the favorite part of my career so far was teaming with you. And, feuding with you. As you said, Drew, we respect each other. We also have chemistry. We have. . . Pizzazz? Yeah, pizzazz! Great word. Drew, I know you're the WWF champion, and I've got a United States title match at SummerSlam, but hear me out. Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre, one more time. The tag team titles, our, the spotlight, ours, the ratings, our! The women. . . Mine. Sorry, I'm not good with sharing. Hello ladies, I see you in the front row, call me.
Drew McIntyre
You must make Kaitlyn feel so special.
Cody winks at the fan then walks down to the ring. He slowly enters, walking up the steel steps and climbing through the ropes. Cody stands face to face with Drew now, he raises his mic.
Cody Rhodes
Before you can answer me, I've set up a little trial run. Tonight, live on Raw, it will be The Legion's Randy Orton & Dolph Ziggler against Cody Rhodes &. . . Drew McIntyre!
Drew exhales and backs up a little. Rhodes smirks, nodding his head up and down.
Cody Rhodes
The Dashing One's, back together, does that sound good to all of you!?
The crowd roar in anticipation for the tag match as Cody continues to smirk. McIntyre stands still, gathering his thoughts as Rhodes begins to exit the ring.
Jim Ross
My god, can you believe it King!? Tonight live on Raw, we get to see the paring of Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre once again!
Jerry Lawler
Man, this night just keeps getting better and better, two title matches and a massive tag team match, pinch me J.R. I have to be dreaming!
Jim Ross
Oh it's no dream King, let's see if the Dashing Duo can put aside their differences and win their first tag team match together!
-The show cuts to commercial-
-Later in the night-
Jim Ross
Here we go King, it's time for our first tag team match of the night! The newly reformed Dashing One's against The Legions's Orton & Ziggler, who are already in the ring.
Orton & Ziggler stand in the ring, ready for a fight, as Cody's theme hits. He struts out onto the stage, a huge smile on his face. He walks down the ramp, but stops at the bottom, he turns back and waits for a moment. After a few seconds Drew's theme starts up and the Scotsman walks out onto the stage.
McIntyre slowly makes his way to Cody, a smile not visible on his face. As he finally approaches Rhodes, the two look at one another and nod.
-Later in the match-
Jerry Lawler
Oh man! What a dropkick by Cody Rhodes there, Orton is down after that huge shot.
Jim Ross
I've got to say, Cody was right when he said that Drew and himself have chemistry, this match has been amazing! The two of them are working off of each other like it's nothing.
Jerry Lawler
What do you expect? These two know each other better than the back of their hands, but I still have some faith in Orton, come on!
As Orton gets to his feet Cody goes to hit his signature running knee drop.
As he goes for this, Orton slides out of the way, Rhodes's knee hits the canvas hard. He yells out in pain as Orton takes advantage, targeting the knee with a vicious leg lock. Rhodes try's to get a tag, but Drew is out of reach. After a few moment Cody manages to escape, sliding out of the submission hold and getting to his feet. He holds his knee in pain, Orton slithers back, poised to strike Cody with the RKO. But Rhodes reverses it, and attempts his finishing move the shining wizard. But once again, Orton reverses Cody's attempt and chop blocks the back of his knee. As Rhodes falls to the mat, Orton stands up and taunts, raising his arms up and embracing the crowd. Cody takes advantage of this and leaps to his corning, tagging in McIntyre. Orton turns around, not knowing that Cody has tagged out. Drew runs at Randy and blasts him with the codebreaker! Orton falls back and McIntyre jumps on top of him.
1!
2!
3!
Jim Ross
It's over, it's over, McIntyre has pinned Randy Orton! The Dashing One's have picked up their first tag team victory!
Jerry Lawler
Oh man, I really thought Legion had this one! That damn McIntyre!
Cody rolls back into the ring where Drew in celebrating his win. Once he gets to his feet, Cody looks at McIntyre and smirks. Cody taps him on the shoulder, and Drew turns his attentions to him.
The Dashing Duo stop for a moment and looks at the crowd, who are roaring and cheering for the two of them. Cody smiles and can be heard saying, "This is what I meant man, this is it." Drew inhales, once again gathering his thoughts. He takes a look and Cody and nods, extending his hand. The crowd cheers even louder as Cody accepts the hand shake.
Jerry Lawler
Well, it looks like we have a new tag team on our hands, or should I say and 'old' tag team. The Dashing One's are back.
Jim Ross
You don't very pleased King fish, but I sure am, what a contest! I see big things in the future of these two superstars.
Jerry Lawler
Big things? Drew is the WWF champion and Cody has a title match of his own coming up soon, how much bigger can things get!?
Jim Ross
I guess we'll just have to find out now won't we King.
The camera fades on Cody and Drew shaking hands.
-End of promo- ((This was a joint effort between Dashing and myself. Promo closed and ready to be graded.))

Drew McIntyre & Cody Rhodes = +5 SP (For Both of you)
Feedback: This was a brilliant Promo to read. It had everything that I would look for in a Promo, and while you built up Rikishi as a good opponent for Summerslam, I had to go and ruin it , honestly, I look forward to Promoing with you Alveuss, your Promos are consistently one of the best in this Fed. Be proud! Dashing's parts didn't go unnoticed either, it was nice to see the reunion of "The Dashing Ones". Great job guys!
