Points System

Now let me start of by saying this isn't a sure thing, I would like it to be, but it's not final.

Points are. . . Cool, sure. But I think they drag the fed down. Now in other feds that I'm in there are NO points, and I have to say, it makes things a lot better. First off, it's a better atmosphere, you aren't constantly waiting for your promos to get graded or getting yelled at because you aren't grading them. It's nice to get feedback from your peers without getting a number slapped on it. In these other feds people help each other with their promos, they give them advise, tell each other what they like or what they don't like. It's FUN! It's not a hassle, and that's the way it should be. You should be doing this for fun, not for someone to say "here's 5 points, you had color, and it was long." The second thing is the way our point system works. It's messed up, there's nothing to buy so people have an incredible amount of points. Like Bunka said, it's not fun to play a match when someone buys a manager or makes you red or has a special ref. It's not fun when someone buys constant title shots, etc. (I've done my fair share of these things.) But I'm realizing that it's not fun anymore. With the site getting ready to make a lot of changes and getting ready to bring in new faces, I think we should eradicate the points system. Let's play matches and make promos for the fun of it, not so you can someday buy a title match, or make your opponent red. I think it will feel good to rid this site of Vince's mark. Let's make things fun again.

Considering I brought up this point today to the mods, I second this.

I agree with scrapping promo reviews and their points. However, I think we should possibly keep this uniqueness of the points system and refine it. Like I said in another thread, make it rare to get points. Right now, its incredibly easy to get them and several members have hundreds of them. I know Botch spent 60 on another character for after Summerslam even though he doesn't need to but he did because he has nothing else he wants to buy.

I'd simply suggest that we make points restricted to PPVs. The only to get to a PPV is to build up a feud and the only way to do that is through promo'ing. It would definitely get more people into promo'ing so they can get to a PPV and get points and it makes the items in the Shop Zone rare.

At the moment its like 'Eh I'll spend 30 to weaken him. I can easily get more. No big deal' but with them being restricted to PPVs its like 'Well if I do this and it doesn't help, I've just screwed myself'. Also prevents people from getting second characters so early without having to do really anything because like I said, they would have to have already shown they could promo to get to a PPV to get said points.

Just my idea though.

Appreciate the ideas for sure, but I still think they should be eliminated totally. The PPV idea was cool but I got to realizing the one simple fact that the things in the shop zone I disagree with. I don't think there should be anything that gives an opponent an unfair advantage. I don't think anything we currently have should be there. Second characters should be granted to someone as a privilege, not something you can buy. 

Just my two cents.

Title shots would be determined by active members. Quality of promos, story lines etc

Other than my idea, I agree with scrapping the points entirely. For second characters, I'd say that if people are ready for a second character they'll post an application for one and let's say the mods would each post whether they agree or disagree with them being able to handle a second character and what they could improve if not or why we think they should if so.

I think the biggest reason I want to scrap the points, and I am sure at least one or two people agree with this reasoning - is the fact that it gets away from the whole Vince era that we are stuck in and is bogging us down.

I can definitely see why that is a reason, especially with us making this 'our' fed. I just like the concept of it as it adds something new that, like Dashing said, other feds don't have. However, if removing it instead of refining it is the majority vote then I see nothing wrong with it. I'd be happy either way.

I agree with removing it completely. I've never particularly been a fan of the whole thing so it's not a huge loss to me. Besides I got really annoyed at how many people were buying title shots last month, it felt extremely forced and unrealistic.

I'm all for getting rid of them too.

I have 250+ Points with nothing to spend them on. Enough of this unfair advantage bullshit, we don't need it anymore. Lets move past it.

Match Types can be determined by us Moderators/Admins, or through the WWF Active thingy.

only thing i ever spent points on was a charictor and finisher change ... yeah dudes scrap um , however i like getting feedback for my promos its fun to see what other people think of what i wrote , and i think its lame that just cuz im not an admin i dont really get to gibe feed back on promos ya know i could but whats it matter im not grading um , i agree with cody we dont need these point to have fun man

I think instead of saying (Ready to be graded) we can say (Want feedback) or (Don't want feedback) that way people can know who wants or doesn't want any on their promos.
