So Its 'Your Time'? Empty
PostSubject: So Its 'Your Time'?   So Its 'Your Time'? EmptyMon Sep 23, 2013 10:26 pm

As RAW comes back from commercial, the fans are treated to the sight of Josh Matthews and John Cena backstage.

Josh Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time ever in WCF history, please welcome my guest, John Cena.

A few cheers and boos can be heard from the crowd out in the arena. Cena takes off his hat and rubs his head before tossing the hat aside. The camera shows that Cena is in his yellow gear shown in Thursday's vignette.

John Cena: Its good to be here, Josh.

Josh Matthews: Well, John, allow me to ask you the most obvious question. What finally brought you to the world of the World Championship Federation?

John looks off screen a bit as if he is thinking before he pulls the mic a bit closer to his mouth.

John Cena: To be honest, Josh, not a lot. You see, between the time that Vince McMahon decided he wanted to re-live his glory days and shutdown WWE up until about this time a few days ago, I was doing nothing more than sitting at home. What brought me . . . well . . . if I tell you it could very well put you in shock because it isn't the obvious answer. I didn't come here for the money. I didn't come here hoping to gain back my threshold at the top of the mountain. Hell, I didn't even come here for the people. I came here simply because . . . Stephanie McMahon asked me to.

Josh looks as if he is a bit confused before pulling the mic closer towards himself but before he can speak John interrupts him.

John Cena: Now, I know what you're thinking. 'Stephanie McMahon brought him here? Are they having some sort of relationship or is there a hidden deal?'. Yes. No. And No. You see, what Stephanie offered me was the greatest deal I have ever made. It wasn't being the face of the company. It wasn't making the most money. It wasn't a guaranteed shot at the Undisputed Championship. This one thing she offered me, is the one thing millions upon millions of people wish they could have. A second chance.

Josh is still puzzled and pulls the mic closer once more, expecting to get interrupted by Cena but is surprisingly not.

Josh Matthews: A . . . a second chance?

Before Cena can answer, a noise can be heard. Cena looks around a bit trying to figure out where it is coming from but then suddenly jumps and he remembers its his ringtone. He pulls his phone out of his pocket and answers it, holding a finger up to signal for Josh to keep quiet. Cena nods his head as he hangs up the phone and places it back in his pocket. He pats Josh on the back as he walks out of view of the camera, leaving Josh Matthews puzzled. The cameras flick to the announce table.

Jerry Lawler: Can you believe this, JR? First we get Laurinaitis last week and now we have John Cena this week!

Jim Ross: It definitely is good to see Cena here but I'm curious as to this 'second chance' that the devil herself gave him!

Before Jerry can answer, the speakers begin playing a theme that sends a part of the crowd into cheers and the others into boos.

John Laurinaitis makes his way onto the stage, smiling his signature smile. He is wearing a black suit with a yellow shirt underneath with a black tie in between. He makes his way down to the ring, giving out a few high fives on his way. He makes his way over to the timekeeper's area and grabs a mic before shaking hands with Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross, proceeding that by walking over to the steel steps and climbing into the ring.

John Laurinaitis: Ladies and gentlemen, I am the General Manager of Smackdown, the resident Leader of People Power, and the 'Mr. Excitement' of the World Championship Federation. Tonight, I would like to personally introduce to you, a special edition of Monday Night RAW. Last week, I came out here to address Triple H and his demands of being made the face of the company and had to ultimately turn him down. However, for his efforts his beautiful wife and C.E.O. of WCF awarded him a title shot at the United States Championship at our October PPV of No Mercy. Tonight, I would like to introduce to you a man who is certainly worthy of being made the face of the company, per the requirements of RAW General Manager Stephanie McMahon, the Commissioner of NXT Johnathan Coachman, and of course myself, the General Manager of Smackdown. Unfortunately, Mr. Coachman was unable to fly in tonight.

Big Johnny pauses for a moment, allowing the crowd a moment to try and take in what is going on.

John Laurinaitis: Ladies and gentlemen, at this moment, please welcome my guest, he is the 'CeNation Commander-in-Chief', JOHN CENA!

A part of the crowd cheers as the others boo, not sure how to take in a potential alliance between John Cena and John Laurinaitis. Suddenly the titantron flickers to life but is met by an unfamiliar theme song.

After a few moments, John Cena steps on stage. The camera is able to catch a good view of his black and yellow 'Haters Gonna Hate' shirt and hit black and yellow camo'd shorts. Instead of doing his normal routine of saluting and running, he stands at the top of the stage and looks around before walking down the ramp. He keeps his head low, avoiding contact with the people around him. Once he reaches the ring, he slides into the ring and finally looks up, taking in the split atmosphere. Big Johnny turns to call for a mic but instead has the one in his hand taken from him.

John Cena: You know, Johnny, you're certainly a slippery guy. I mean, I knew you were gonna call me and I knew you were gonna treat me like I was the greatest thing on the planet, but what caught me off guard is, its almost like you don't pay attention. I don't want to be the face of the company. I've been there, I've done that, and quite frankly if I go back it becomes nothing short of the same old song and dance.

Big Johnny looks at Cena and asks for his mic back but as he goes to reach for it Cena steps backwards out of his reach.

John Cena: Being face of the company means you have to do things no sane human being would do. It means turning your back on the people just so you can feel like you are doing it for the people. It means trying to impress those that you have no desire to impress and quite frankly I'm done trying to impress them. Critics and fans alike. Everyone looks at me and they expect to see a hero of some sort. A . . . 'Superman' if you will. And I'm tired of that. I'm tired of coming out here and working my hind-en . . . no . . . my ass off for them simply to go home and learn that I gained six more people who dislike me because I try. I'm done with it. You can take your face of the company and all its perks and shove them where the sun don't shine!

The crowd cheers but is mainly filled with boos for unknown reasons. Cena signals outside the ring for a stagehand to bring Big Johnny a mic and he follows suit.

John Laurinaitis: John, I don't think you understand. I mean . . .

John Cena: NO! I don't think you understand! I'm not here to play your little game of 'Let's use John Cena to try and gain public favor'. I'm here on behalf of Stephanie McMahon. I'm here because she gave me an opportunity to prove to myself that I am not an ass-kisser. To prove to myself that I am someone more than what people make me out to be. Not to them, not the guys backstage, and most certainly not to you. TO . . . MY . . . SELF.

Cena steps forward so he is nose to nose with Big Johnny. The crowd is now primarily boos.

John Cena: This chance, this opportunity, its one of a kind. Its rare. And if you think I will waste this chance to become your Pinocchio then you are sorely mistaken.

Cena takes a step back and takes a deep breath, rubbing his hair and wiping off some sweat from his forehead. He looks down as he begins speaking once again.

John cena: It was 2005 and I was standing in my locker room, I had just won the WWE Championship. I had been given something big by Vince McMahon. That something was the start of the fall of my career, and my career had only begun. Within moments, my destiny and my life was chosen for me. I had to walk out on stage and introduce the NEW WWE Championship.

Cena stops speaking as he smirks before looking at Laurinaitis and then looking around the crowd in front of him.

John Cena: You ever get those feelings like you're doing something wrong but there was nothing you could do about it? Well, this was one of them. Standing right here in the middle of the ring, holding the new WWE Championship with a middle that spun like a children's play toy, I knew I was doing the wrong thing. But it was my first taste of the big leagues. If I knew then that I would become the sick bastard I would end up becoming up until the closing of WWE, I would have never made that deal. But I wanna thank you for being there every step of the way, trying to 'encourage' me to be a 'man of the people'.

Cena stops once more as he steps towards Laurinaitis, holding his hand out. It takes Laurinaitis a few moments before he realizes Cena wants him to shake his hand. Confused, Big Johnny shakes his hand but as Laurinaitis goes to pull his hand away, Cena grips it tighter causing Big Johnny to look a bit puzzled.

John Cena: That time is certainly over though. The time when John Cena had his head up his ass and was giving his bosses pleasure underneath their decks, has passed. The time when John Cena came out here each and every night, trying to please the crowd but simply ended up with more critics than any popular video game, is over. This relationship and whatever deals I had with you, is over. I hate to tell this to you and these people Mr. Laurinaitis, but our time is over. Instead, my time is . . .

Before Cena can finish his line, a theme song begins playing causing Cena to turn his head but keep his grip on Big Johnny's hand.
