....Funny.

--The shot opens up on a seemingly empty room, lit only by a single light cutting through the murky darkness surrounding it. A curl of smoke floats around, casting of an oddly soothing effect. This easiness is soon shattered by a low, almost guttural laugh coming from just out of view of the camera. The chuckle grows in volume, echoing around the room until it suddenly cuts out. The voice that follows is instantly recognizable. However, as the person behind it speaks, it begins to possess an unusual frantic edge to it, and mixed with the occasional willy-giving chuckle, has quite the creepy feel to it.--

"It's funny... it's funny. People, they're quite funny. Because... people, people are quite fickle. People, people never care... People never care unless you're pretty or dying. And if you're not pretty or dying, they don't care. And that, ladies and gentlemen, hobos and tramps... well that's that."

--A shadow appears in the lighted area, blending in eerily to the dark surroundings. What appears to be it's hair is messy and wild, as if unwashed for days. The tangled hair seems to match the disheveled clothing, which even in the negative shadow can be clearly seen to hang off of the wearer, as if two sizes too big. The dark hands reach up and run themselves through the raveled locks, fidgeting as he speaks.--

"You wanna know somethin' else about people? Let me tell you somethin' else about people. People... man is the only creature who refuses to accept what he is. Y'see, man is just another beast, another animal in this fucked up circle of life. But man, man has this superiority complex goin' on. Man thinks he's better than all the other animals of the kingdom. Man isn't savage! Man isn't a beast! Well let me tell you somethin'... Man is like a moon, yeah. Man is like a moon, every man has a dark side. But man won't show nobody that dark side, no he won't. Because man is good, ain't he?"

--He abruptly stops, dropping his hands to his side and shaking his head, inching closer into the light. He begins that laugh again, carrying it on... as if he is deranged.--

"That's funny... man being good. Just absolutely hilarious. Man, the same man that shuns the poor and curses the leper. Man, the same man that turns his back on a fellow man in his time of need. Man, the very same man who crawls his way to the top, stepping on every other man to get there, only to realize there is nothing left? Man... good? Comical. No... no. Man, and people, they're all the same. Consumed by greed and ignorant to the suffering of those who they trample in their pursuit of life, liberty, happiness... money, goods, material things. Obsessed... and people call me crazy..."

--...with that being said, he steps partially into the light...--

"...And I find that funny...."

--He begins to laugh howlingly again, slinking back into the shadows as the camera fades to black.--
