RAW comes back from commercial to show Jerry 'The King' Lawler and 'Good Ol' Jim Ross sitting at the announce table. The crowd can be heard making noise from various 'CM PUNK' chants to 'WE WANT DANIELS' and 'CODY SUCKS'. The camera pans around the arena to show various signs such as 'Best in the World vs Best in the Business' and 'Enterprise: Do You Deliver?'. The cameras cut back to Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross as they have their notes in order and are ready to speak.
Jim Ross: Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to another exciting episode of Monday Night RAW!
Jerry Lawler: That's right and so far things have been very interesting but lets get to recapping the events that took place at Unforgi . . .
Jerry gets cut off as the cameras static a bit before coming back to life inside a rather dark room. In the center of the room is a lone steel chair. The camera goes black as a voice begins to speak.
? ? ?: Ability. Fame. Fortune. Fans. Politics. Critics.
The camera comes back on to show the chair in the middle of the room once more, this time a lone pair of shoes sit in front of them. The camera slowly zooms in on the shoes before blacking out once more.
? ? ?: With ability, there comes the option of fame. Once you reach fame, fortune is known to follow suit. The more that fame works around you and for you, the more you get fans and then the more the fans love you, the more you are forced into doing such unspeakable acts. That's the politics speaking. And when politics force you to do bad things, things that no normal being would do, critics are soon to follow.
The camera comes back on looking head on at the shoes. However, now there are legs going inside of the shoes and behind them the outline of a shirt can be spotted. As the figure speaks more, he is met with videos detailing his views.
? ? ?: Some people like to face their critics head on.
? ? ?: Some people like to ignore their critics.
? ? ?: Then you have some people who see critics as someone who THINKS he knows everything and someone who THINKS he knows me. It never takes effect that you don't really know me. You don't know the things I've had to do. You don't know what I've had to fight tooth and nail for. And even if you did, you would never understand why. The thing that makes these people special is they try to ignore the bad and do their best to make it all positive. But in the end, it doesn't matter what you do, it doesn't matter who you manage to impress, there will always be a critic.
As the camera begins to move upward, the bottom part of a pair of knee pads can seen before the shape of cargo shorts take over. The shorts are camo'd and obviously have another color besides black but the black/white film of the camera doesn't allow us to know. The camera continues moving upwards, showing a black shirt with the words 'Haters Gonna Hate' but they are colorless, possibly the same color as the shorts though. As the camera reaches the neck, a pair of armbands on each arm can be seen, but they are also colorless except for a few black headings which read 'CeNation Commander-in-Chief'. The camera pans up but as it gets ready to show the eyes of the square-headed superstar, the camera blacks out once again.
? ? ?: I'm one of those people.
The camera suddenly flashes on to reveal that the person in the chair was John Cena. He has a rather stoic look on his face, his eyes obviously focused on something as he isn't looking at the camera.
John Cena: You have your 'Great Ones', your 'Best in the Worlds', your 'Awesome Ones'; someone that people know they can boo or cheer simply because they will get the reaction they want. If they boo, they want a hateful reply. If they cheer, they want love in return. But then you have me, the one person who takes the bad and turns it into the good and attempts to make the world a happy place. And boy oh boy do people hate that. That moment when you are in the arena and you are waiting for someone to come out and boo or cheer and then also of a sudden 'Da nananaaaa' and I come strutting out there in the flavor of the month. I make my way to the ring just like every other superstar who has been in the business and I hear it. 'Lets Go Cena!' 'Cena Sucks!'. I tell them they can do that because its their free will. That's what makes them angry. Because I'm a nice guy. I just stand there and smile while everyone around me is spitting on who I am. Or at least, who I thought I was.
Cena takes an obvious deep breathe before looking into the camera but as soon as his eyes makes contact the camera goes black. However it quickly comes on and shows Cena standing with his back against a brick wall, his 'You Can't See Me' hat on his head.
John Cena: In my time in Vince McMahon's WWE, I had my views tainted, my beliefs poisoned, and my head shoved in places no self-respecting person should have their head. Vince told me 'John, don't worry about those critics of your's. They just don't understand you.' and I believed him. I believed these people didn't understand me and didn't understand that I wanted all of us to be friends. But, after WWE closed down I soon realized, they really didn't understand me. They didn't understand why I became a corporate ass-kisser. They didn't understand why I sold out to the big guys backstage simply to do what I loved doing. And now that I look back on it, I don't understand either.
The camera watches closely as Cena slides down the wall to sit, but his gear changes from what he is currently wearing to his 'Doctor of Thugonomics' gear.
John Cena: I remember the first time I dealt with 'politics' and 'critics'. I had just won my first WWE Championship from JBL in what was one hell of a match. At that moment, I was entering a whole new beginning for myself. But while I was out celebrating with friends and partying, I got a call from Vince McMahon saying 'John, don't worry about those critics of your's. I need you to come up with a design for the WWE Championship that we can call 'your's'.' So I left my party and I left my friends and I went home and sat down and tried to come up with a plan. I couldn't come up with anything and so I went to the show and I met with Vince backstage and I told him I couldn't come up with anything. He looked at me and he told me 'Don't worry. We came up with something HIP and STYLISH' for you. It'll definitely get people on your side!'
The camera blackens out but comes back to show Cena in his 'CeNation Commander-in-Chief' attire. He stands over a trash can which contains a small fire inside. In one hand, he has the original WWE Championship and in the other he has the spinner belt. He shakes his head as he begins speaking.
John Cena: I went backstage and stood there like this, both belts in my hand trying to figure out what to do, minus the trashcan of course. I couldn't walk out there with this pile of crap. Vince was stuck in a different period of time, a period of time that I had passed. I was no longer the 'Doctor of Thugonomics', so while did I need this? What was the point? As I stood there thinking, time soon came upon me to make my way out to the ring. I was stuck with this horrible look for a championship.
The original WWE Championship disappears from Cena's hand as does the trash can. However, he still remains standing with the spinner belt, his head down in a disappointed fashion.
John Cena: This belt represents where everything in my life had gone wrong. It symbolizes when I started my time as an ass-kisser, as someone who thought he had to have everyone on his side. It showed when I took my values of 'Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect' and shoved them in a dark closet while I had my head up my ass thinking I was doing the best thing for the fans, for the business, and for myself.
Suddenly, color comes to the camera and the unknown color from earlier quickly becomes a faint yellow. As the color comes into full view, Cena drops the spinner belt and it fades away as it hits the ground.
John Cena: But no more. No longer will I be a freak show act and no longer will I attempt to make everyone happy. I will no longer be the corporate ass-kisser or the guy who tries to make the world a happy place. I hate to do this to those that are loyal to me but now its time for my to do my own thing and prove I am twenty times better than the way everyone looks at me. Like the song says you can hate me now but I won't stop.
The camera flashes and when it comes-to is in front of Cena who has his eyes closed.
John Cena: My time . . .
Cena pauses for a moment before suddenly opening his eyes and screaming.
John Cena: IS NOW!
