| Since I work in radio, it's impossible for music to be off my mind for longer than a few minutes. The first thing I notice on commercials is the song they use. The most fun I've ever had has been a big music festivals. And music is the one thing I can talk to anyone about, without being shy or nervous because I've never met the person. Needless to say, music is my biggest passion. I was just curious as to what some of you are currently listening to, maybe your all time favorites artist or songs.
My favorite bands are The Doors, The Black Keys, Megadeth, System of a Down(they had an effect on me in high school) The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
Currently I'm listening to a lot of Metric, Rush, The White Stripes, twenty one pilots, Death Grips, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis....actually the list could go on for days.
Would love to hear what you guys think, as long as there is no bashing on other peoples taste in music!

| SOAD, SOAD, SOAD! That's pretty much all I listen to. Throw in some Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Richie Havens and sprinkle it with some WWE themes and that's my music scene. | |

| I don't listen to SOAD like I used to, but I get though a kick every couple months were I listen to them a few days nonstop! Like I said, they kinda got me through tough times in high school. | |

| what do you do in radio? On air stuff? I'm in Communications at College, and i've done a bit of radio stuff, but not a ton. People always told me I have a "radio" voice. But mostly i'm doing advertising and public relations related stuff.
As for music, my favourite bands/artists in no particular order and not divided into respective genres are:
Deftones Smashing Pumpkins Radiohead Alice In Chains Tool Elliott Smith Matthew Good Iced Earth Iron Maiden Sonic Youth Fugazi The Bad Brains The Misfits Machinehead The Sea And Cake Tiamat Mastodon City and Colour Rage against the machine Pink Floyd Dropkick Murphys Warbringer System of a Down Minor Threat Jawbreaker Minutemen John Frusciante ...list could go on and on and on
People often think i'm trying to be trendy when I say I listen to a lot of different stuff, but its the honest truth. Except I hate country music. Hate, hate, hate.

| That's an impressive list! How could I forget to mention Iron Maiden?!?! I also listen to quite a bit, just about anything but country haha. Dropkick Murphys is amazing live, as is Iron Maiden and City and Colour....actually, the list of bands I've seen could go on wayyy too long.
I do on-air work. I was on-air at my college station for two years which played a lot of indie/alt/college rock stuff. Now I work at a station in west central Illinois(where I've been for just over a year), and it sucks. I work on air, but I'm pretty much a glorified board op for shitty high school sports.

| I like two country songs, Red Solo Cup (it's just hilarious) and I've Been Watching You by Rodney Atkins and I only like that because it's mine and my dads song. All other country music can fuck off, it's awful.
What's your guys' favorite System of A Down song/album? Mine's got to be a tie between Mezmerize and Toxicity. My all time favorite song by them is Prison Song/Science.
Edit: I also hate rap. I like little to no songs in that genre.

| favourite song is probably either Spiders or Lost in Holywood, but favourite album as a whole is Toxicity. Im not a fan of rap either, but I don't dislike it as much as country | |

| You two are listening to the wrong rap! My favorite song varies, I really like Mind, Suite-Pee, Lost in Hollywood, Atwa....as for album, it depends on my mood really. I would have to say most of the time their self-titled one. But sometimes it's Mezmerize/Hypnotize...and somedays it's Toxicity lmao | |

| Well. I love music. I'll try and separate it into genres as best as I can, but it's so varied it'll probably be just a jumbled mess. Anyway.
Rap (yep. Arguably one of the whitest members is very big into rap. Bite me.)
2Pac (obviously) Biggie (obviously) Hopsin Earl Sweatshirt Immortal Technique Tech N9ne Tyler Cassidy Frank Ocean (his raps are great) Domo Freddie Gibbs Lil B & RiFF RAFF (comedic)
Metal Motorhead Danzig Dio Pantera Megadeth Judas Priest Krokus Anthrax Saxon Ghost B.C. King Diamond System of a Down (sorta metal, sorta Alt)
Alternative Deftones (one of my favourites) Nirvana (c'mon now) A Perfect Circle Nine Inch Nails Tool Faith No More Queens of the Stoneage Cake Smashing Pumpkins Silversun Pickups Alice In Chains Incubus Stone Temple Pilots Rise Against Soundgarden Red Hot Chili Peppers AWOLNATION Staind The White Stripes Blue October Foxy Shazam Beck Florence + The Machine Janus Young the Giant Counting Crows Wheatus Volbeat The Killers (favourites)
Soft (Not sure how to generalize it)
Walk The Moon The Smiths New Radicals Cold War Kids The Wallflowers Presidents of the United States Jack White Citizen Cope Redlight King The Creepshow The Dear Hunter (Favorites)
Ska/Punk Green Day (favourites, especially Dookie/Insomniac) 311 Everclear Sublime (Another one of my favourites) Weezer Reel Big Fish The Mighty Mighty Bosstones Agnostic Front NOFX The Distillers Agent Orange Misfits Bad Religion Operation Ivy Descendants Lagwagon Millencolin Rancid The Unseen Bigwig Downset Anti-Flag Social Distortion Pennywise (WWE '13 killed them for me though) Screeching Weasel Voodoo Glow Skulls Dwarves Satanic Surfers At The Drive-In Sick of it All Samiam Against Me! All The Vandals Dead Kennedys
Pop Punk/Post-Hardcore The Wonder Years (favourites) Handguns Real Friends Fireworks The Front Bottoms Man Overboard Title Fight This Time Next Year The Swellers City Lights Tigers Jaw Secrets A Day to Remember Bring Me The Horizon Silverstein Atreyu From First to Last Sum 41
Jazz/Country Frank Sinatra Dean Martin Sammy Davis Jr Peggy Lee Louis Armstrong Nat King Cole The Rat Pack (too lazy to list the rest) Billie Holliday Johnny Cash The Highwaymen

| I like Tyler The Creator, he's one of the few rap artists I can tolerate. Mainly because he doesn't talk about money, cars, drugs and hoes, he's just fucking nuts. Does anyone watch his adult swim show? Fucking hilarious.
I also forgot to mention Coldplay, Bon Jovi and (bite me) Justin Timberlake.

I just want you to know that not a lot of rappers do that as much. Or if they do, it isn't nearly as much as the stereotype surrounding it.

| By the way, have all the people here who said they like SOAD listened to Scars on Broadway? Really, really good stuff. I actually think I personally like Scars on Broadway's self-titled album more than anything from System. | |
