The crowd lights up with a mixed reaction for the self proclaimed "Captain Charisma" as his theme hits. The titantron is taken over by smiling images of him, and then the real deal hits the stage. Christian comes out, smiling that thousand dollar smile. He looks out across the crowd, raising a hand to his brow. He nods a few times, then turns and takes off down the ramp. He greets a few of the hands reaching out to him with his own. He reaches the bottom of the ramp in no time, taking to the stairs and then into the ring. The ring announcer reaches him, handing him a mic and shaking his hand. The duo part, Christian being left in the ring with the mic in hand. [Christian] Man, you guys are loud tonight, aren't you? I haven't heard a reaction like that in a while!
The crowd erupts again, liking the fact their energy is being noticed.
[Christian] So, if I may, once again, I am glad to be back. Though, that isn't the reason why I'm out here tonight. The reason I am out here tonight, is to talk once again to my old friend, Cody Rhodes.
Yet again, the crowd comes to life at the sound of Cody Rhodes' name.
[Christian] Alright guys, settle down. On Smackdown, me and Cody had a minor disagreement. It honestly wasn't that big of a deal and I feel it was blown completely out of proportion. As of right now, I don't know where Cody sits on this situation. Cody! If you could, I'd like you to come out here so I can smooth things over with you man. I didn't mean a whole lot of the things I said to be said and I am sure you feel the same way. Let's wipe the slate clean and call it square for now, shall we? Christian smiles at the stage, awaiting some form of response.

After a short moment of suspense, Cody Rhodes' theme song hits the PA system and the fans go nuts.
Cody slinks out onto the stage, a half cocked smile on his face. He stares down at Christian and laughs, nodding his head a few times. With a microphone already settled in the palm of his right hand, Cody takes off down the ramp, almost ignoring his fans in the front row. He wastes no time entering the ring, jumping up onto the apron and ducking between the ropes. Once inside, he cocks another half smile at his long time buddy, the fans cheering and chanting all the while. Rhodes takes a second, letting the noise die down before he raises his mic up to speak.
Cody
I ugh, I don't really know where to begin here, Christian. You're right, things did get out of hand last week. Things didn't need to happen the way that they did. You're one of my oldest friends, and I wouldn't want to lose what we have over some stupid argument. BUT. With that said, it's painfully clear that there are some . . . Unresolved issues between the two of us. I can appreciate that you're sorry, I really can. And I get that you didn't mean the things that you said. But, Christian . . . I did. I didn't say what I said out of anger. I meant it. When you disrespected Kaitlyn, you disrespected me. And after all that we've been through, after I got you your dream job back, that's the last thing that I expected from you. For you to spit in my face. So yes, I would very much like for us two to bury the hatchet. But you and I both know that can't be done until we've cleared the plate. Until we've settled this one on one. Lucky for us, the Royal Rumble is just around the corner, and what a better place for us to settle the score than where we first met. This isn't going to be a fight, it won't be inside of a cage nor will weapons be surrounding the ring. This is going to be a match. You and I, one on one at the Royal Rumble. This is the only way that I can see the dust settling between us. So what is it, Christian? Will you take me on, or will our friendship end right here, right now?
Cody lowers his microphone in wait. The fans on the edge of their seats, chants traveling throughout the arena in a massive wave. With only inches between them, Christian looks around, Cody once more cocking a half smile, awaiting his 'friends' answer.

Christian stands, rather appalled. He brings the mic up slowly, running a hand over his forehead.
[Christian]
Are you sure Cody? Do you really want that to clear the plate between us? Can you even handle that?
Christian smirks now.
[Christian]
Not to sound arrogant, but we all know that you weren't part of the elite two in the beginning stages of RISE. Be it that I haven't had you in the ring in a while, things might have changed. IF you really want to have a match. We can. The Royal Rumble will feature Christian taking on Cody Rhodes.
Christian turns to Cody to see if he has anything else to say.
[TBC by the fuck face.]

As Christian shrugs his shoulder, waiting for Cody to say something else, the fans begin to chant back and forth, "Let's go Cody, Cody sucks!, Let's go Cody, Cody sucks!" Rhodes simply cracks a wide smile, laughing a bit.
Cody
You may have been with Edge at the start, Christian. But the elite two? I think you need to check the history books my friend. Because the last time that we fought in this ring, your career ended . . . Let's just hope that doesn't happen again.
Cody steps back a little, smirking as Christian does the same. The two stare at one another, not knowing what else to say. Rhodes finally raises his microphone one last time, moving back to the center of the ring.
Cody
. . . I'll see you at the Royal Rumble . . . Friend.
With that, Cody drops his mic and exits the ring, his theme song hitting the speakers. Christian watches him as he leaves, Rhodes turning back to catch a glimpse of his Royal Rumble adversary.
