Subject: WCF.com Exclusive Interview 3 Sat Jan 04, 2014 4:38 pm
The WCF is quickly becoming one of, if not the most, dominant brands in professional wrestling. There are many stars who have been in the WCF and many more who are joining. The best wrestlers from all over the world are coming to this brand, and it can be difficult to keep up with all the stars. That's why us here at WCF.com have decided to start sitting down and interviewing the wrestlers of the WCF. There will be weekly interviews that are exclusive to WCF.com. So with that being said, I present to you the third WCF.com Exclusive Interview...
Beauty of the Beast: A Sit-down With Brock Lesnar by Dave Turner
It was Saturday, December 21st, 2013. I had just flown into Minnesota for my much anticipated sit-down with the one and only Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar, a true U.S. superstar has only been in the WCF since September, but in pro wrestling as a whole for around 8 years. As a three time Undisputed Champion, Brock has devastated main eventers such as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and The Undertaker. Brock is the definition of ruthless aggression. He has only become more dominant since returning from MMA, which saw him add the Kimura Lock to his already impressive arsenal. I had been trying to get ahold of Brock for sometime for an interview, but wasn't able to until the events that happened on December 16th edition of WCF Monday Night RAW. After Brock attacked Paul Heyman, and surprised everyone with a masters degree in English, he returned one of my emails and invited me up to his home town of Alexandria, Minnesota. Brock sent a cab to pick me up from the airport and drive me to his home. Once there, Brock welcomed me into his home, offered me a Coors and we began the interview.
DT: Brock, you are one of the most dominant big men in the history of wrestling. You were recruited right out of college...what made you come to pro wrestling?
BL: People always complimented me back in the day for my "freakish" physique. They said I could take guys like Hulk Hogan, chew them up, and spit them right back out. So, I decided to put that to the test. With the help of a......shady business partner, I got a contract with the WWF and I wreaked havoc like no other superstar ever did. Guys like Triple H, The Rock, Undertaker, Big Show, Kurt Angle......I've fought them all, and I've BEAT them all. In a way, I was like the Legend Killer before Randy Orton set foot on a ring.
DT: After a historic run in the WWE, you decided to leave the company and eventually started doing MMA. What made you decide to leave the WWE and join UFC?
BL: Honestly, I was burnt out. It started getting boring to me, I needed something to get my attention again. Plus, my match with Goldberg back at Wrestlemania XX wasn't exactly well received, so I figured that I needed to transition somewhere else to succeed. One day, I got a call from the head of UFC, Dana White. He saw a couple of my matches and he said that if I could get trained in mixed martial arts and sign a contract with UFC, then I could make the company millions of dollars, what with my star power and all. So I trained up, and I actually learned a couple of things. It's basically where I got the Kimura Lock from. It's a simple technique to execute, but once it's locked in, it's almost impossible for the opponent to get out of and it can break his arm.
DT: While in the UFC, at UFC 121, you and The Undertaker almost fought right in the stands...what is the story behind the encounter?
BL: I should have probably cleared this up earlier. He asked me "You wanna do it?" referring to a possible match at the show of all shows, Wrestlemania. Unfortunately, I was too stirred up from my loss that night, so I didn't answer him directly. As far as a match at Wrestlemania, I'd be happy to accept the challenge. The Undertaker is one of the few men in this business that I still have the utmost respect for, he's an icon and a legend.
(UFC 121 word exchange)
DT: It was recently discovered that you were putting on an act, acting like a monster who could barely speak English and destroyed a lot of things, when in fact you showed everyone that you actually have a masters degree in English. What lead to the act, and to you telling everyone the truth?
BL: Actually, at first, it wasn't an act. I still can't remember the details, but I was involved in a huge incident a couple of months ago. As a result, I was considered "brain damaged" and unable to roam around without somebody supervising me. Luckily, with a contact I found at Harvard, I was trained, brutally, mind you, to get a Master's Degree much earlier than others. It was probably one of the most difficult obstacles in my life, but I survived it. Then afterwards, I kept overhearing Paul Heyman talking trash about my career thus far, that I was a failure. It was that Raw that I had to make a decision. Will I regret it when it comes to my future endeavors? Maybe. But I did what I had to do.
DT: If you could fight anyone in the world, alive or dead, who would it be?
BL: MMA wise, probably Ken Shamrock or Anderson Silva. Both men are very dominant in their craft, and I would have liked to have an exhibition with them in their prime.
DT: Who would like like to fight most in the WCF?
BL: Tough question, especially since I've fought with the majority of the roster. Maybe my mentor, Curt Hennig. It's been a while since I've seen him, now that he has the United States Championship, I'd like to see if the student will outlast the master. Kurt Angle would be another good match. After all, we sold out the crowds back at Wrestlemania XIX. It would be interesting to relive that matchup and stealing the show once again. Anyone else.......I'm indifferent. If there's new guys with talent that have potential, I'd gladly take them on one on one. I like to test myself constantly, push my limits.
DT: Final question Brock...What message, if any, do you have for the WCF locker room right now?
BL: I'm a guy that fights for what's right; plain and simple. But that doesn't mean that that hinders my strength in the ring. I'm still the same Brock Lesnar that beat all those established main eventers back in the day. My win-loss record proves it. Hell, I beat Drew McIntyre, the WCF WORLD Heavyweight Champion, last week as revenge for that First Blood match on Smackdown, my only loss so far coming back to professional wrestling. I'm a natural badass. The locker room knows it, the officials know it, and my fans know it. That's why they support me regardless of what I do. I'm just that damn good.
Sitting down with the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar was a great experience. I'd have to believe that Brock could easily be anyones best ally, or their worst enemy. Nothing is more intimidating than hearing that guitar riff as a 265 pound man walks down the ramp, with the look of destruction on his face, ready to destroy anything in his path. You can catch Brock Lesnar at the upcoming WCF Pay-Per-View Royal Rumble.
