Subject: Cody Rhodes Is On A Roll Wed Jun 26, 2013 3:17 am
The arena is all a buzz after last nights PPV, the tag titles changed hands, the world title remained around Daniels waist, Paul Wight putting Eric Bischoff to rest and Cody climbed the ladder high to retrieve the rights of RISE. The camera pans over to the announce table to find Tenay and Heenan bickering.
Heenan: Daniels beat Edge and Cody two on one, then went on to defend his world title, how much more does the guy have to do to impress you, Tenay?
Tenay: He doesn't have to do anything, the guy is amazing, I just don't like his dirty tactics. Is a clean win every now and then too much to ask for? But more to the point, what about what happened to Eric Bischoff last night?
Heenan: Don't get me started, I don't know what mindset Paul was in, but what he did was disgusting and completely unacceptable.
Tenay: I'm with you on this one, Wight must have some sort of motive here, but what?
Heenan: Who knows, maybe the big slug will do some explaining tonight. . .
Tenay: Hopefully, but that's in the past now, we are live in Bridgeport CT, bringing you the fans the best matches
possible!
Better than WWF that is, welcome all, tonight we-
Heenan is cut off by Rhodes' theme music.
Oh man, here we go.
Cody walks out on stage, dressed in a nice suit and holding a mic. The arena fills with Cody marks chanting his name and the ladies going wild. Rhodes straightens himself out and raises the mic. He gives the crowd a big smile and starts to speak.
I've got news!
The crowd gives a small cheer in anticipation. Heenan and Tenay both look dumbfounded as Cody continues.
No, it's not that I beat Dolph one on one in a ladder match to earn the rights of RISE.
The crowd pops again at the mention of last nights battle.
And it's not that I lost my tag team titles in the elimination chamber. Congratulations to Bad Influence by the way, you've unfortunately earned it. The news is as follows, hold onto your seats. This past weekend our beloved general manager, Eric Bischoff fell ill. Very ill. Due in the most part to a giant. Some of you may have seen it, most probably haven't. You see when you take and angry, and I do mean angry gaint, and put him in an situation where that anger can be let out, he’ll take advantage. Let’s take a look shall we.
Cody points to the titantron and a video package of Paul Wight throwing Eric off of the stage at The Bash plays. The crowd cheers as Wight stands tall, Eric almost motionless on the concrete floor. Cody brings the mic up as the video ends.
Wow, that must have hurt. But let's move on. Mr. Bischoff won't be joining us for quite some time now, a month to be exact. At least that's what the doctors say. And I for one am going to take their word on this one. Anyways as the WCW staff gathered this morning in a rush to find a intern GM. They sorted who would be best to fill in for him. Me being the outstanding superstar that I am just had to interject. I walked right up to to suits, told them I am the man for the job and guess what? They bought it, and here I am. You're new WCW intern general manager!
The crowd goes ape shit as they hear the news. Chants of, "Cody, Cody, Cody" spring up and Rhodes laughs.
Oh yes. Mr. Rhodes is now in control of WCW! And I for one can't wait to get started. So many things to do, where do I start? Ah, yes. The main event. You see last night neither Edge and I nor Dolph and Punk were able to win the titles. They went home with Bad Influence, woo! But I honestly see this as a good thing, because now I have this job, everything happens for a reason, right? Now back to what I was saying, ah yes. Dolph Ziggler and Mr. Punk. You stole my title, you kicked me out of MY stable and you stabbed me in the back. Now beating Dolph last night in the ladder match was great, don't get me wrong, but I still have some anger inside of me. And I figured out a great way to put that anger to rest. Tonight, it will be Dolph Ziggler against his own partner, CM Punk in a match. With yours truly as the special referee!
A massive wave of cheer spreads out through the arena as a smirk creeps onto Cody's face.
I knew you'd all love it! I hope those two bring their best, because what I have in store for Bash at the Beach will be amazing to say the least, and if those two want to be a part of it, they'll bring their A game. So everyone kick your shoes off, unless you're a part of this live audience, and sit back, Nitro is about to begin.
Cody lowers the mic, gives another smile and takes a bow. He then exits the arena as the crowd continues to cheer.
----Later In The Show----
Cody: I understand, yes, yes, yes, trust me, everything is going great. The crowd loves it, yes, listen I got to go, okay, get well soon or don't, it's all the same to me!
Cody hangs up the phone and exhales, a look of relief on his face. As he turns around he is greeted by a large shadow. Paul Wight is now standing in front of Rhodes.
Cody, just the man I wanted to see. Was that Eric on the phone just now?
Cody looks at his phone then at Paul.
It sure was, and he told me to say hello to his favorite superstar!
Did he now?
No, he did in fact tell me to fire you, but I have a much, much better idea.
Wight smiles and nods.
Good choice Cody, good choice indeed, now what's this idea you have?
Rhodes pats Paul on the arm and motions for him to take a seat.
Paul, if you hadn't of gone and thrown Eric off of that stage, I wouldn't be standing here right now, and I can knowledge that. I can also appreciate it. So I think it's only right that I do you a solid. How does a shot at the U.S. title sound?
Wight's face lights up at the proposition.
Well, it sounds pretty damn good, but I know you well enough to know what's too good to be true, what's in it for you?
Rhode laughs and takes a seat himself.
You see, I'm putting together a team, small, but I need someone that I know can take down anything, I need a tank, a powerhouse, I need you.
A team, huh? For what?
Oh, you'll find that out soon enough. . .do we have a deal?
Wight leans back in his chair and shakes his head.
Deal.
The camera fades out on Paul and Rhodes shaking hands.
(Had to do it)
----Even Later In The Show----
As we come back from commercial break, Dolph is now in the ring, delivering a rant about the events of last night and the choice of Cody Rhodes as intern GM. Before long he is interrupted by Cody's theme music. Rhodes steps out on stage and takes a look around, he points to Dolph and rubs his neck.
Dolph, Dolph, Dolph, just stop please, these people already has to sit through that Brock Lesnar promo, don't make them listen to you. I'm honestly not surprised that you're out here complaining about things, that's all you seem to do nowadays. You know we had all that build up to our match at The Bash, the trash talk, the attacks, these people were excepting one hell of a match. But all they got was ME climbing the ladder and retrieving the rights to RISE, rather easily if I do say so myself. That saddens me because I know that you're a brilliant athlete, as much as I hate to admit it. Maybe it's because you had two other matches on the card, which you also lost, but that's beyond the point. Dolph, I want to face you at your best. That's what I want, that's what these people want and I'm sure it's what you want. No chambers, no ladders, no contracts on the line.
Rhodes lowers the mic and clears his throat before continuing on.
I'm out here to offer another challenge to you Dolph. The Bash may have been a let down to some, and I plan on making it up to them. Bash at the Beach is now four short weeks away, yeah, four! And at the PPV there will be a match between us. But not JUST us. It will be your little circle jerk of friends, any two you want against Me, and my team. In an elimination style three-on-three tag team match!
As Cody says this the crowd cheers, instantly loving the idea. Ziggler's face turns serious as he stands in the ring. The arena is alive as Cody raises the mic again.
I know you're not one for a fair fight, or one who can win a match by himself, so I thought this was the only fair way we could go. Dolph's super pals vs. Cody and friends. How about it, Ziggles?
Rhodes points the mic towards Dolph and folds his arms, waiting for a reply.
(Open to Dolph Ziggler, leave it back open to me)

Dolph chuckles to himself for a moment, shaking his head in disbelief. He leans over the ropes and stares up the ramp at Cody.
Dolph brings the microphone up and begins to speak.
Ahhhh Cody. I've got to give you some credit, you are one sneaky son of a bitch. I don't know how you got that giant sack of guts to do your bidding, but you did the unthinkable and sent Bischoff packing. You saw an opportunity to make a power grab and you took it. That's what I've always admired about you Cody, your willingness to do whatever it takes to advance yourself. It's why I joined Rise Cody. It's why, even though I couldn't beat you last night, I'm impressed with how quickly you managed to become the most powerful person in this company. You did what I couldn't do Cody, and for that...for that I say, well done sir.
Tony: Well, I didn't expect this. I would have thought Ziggler would have complained and made excuses like he always does, instead he's congratulating Cody.
Bobby: Yeah, what the hell is going on? C'mon Dolph don't be all goody goody on me now. We need a Show Off around here.
Dolph slow claps for Cody. Cody grimaces back at Dolph.
But.
But.
That's right Cody, there's always a but. Yes, I respect you for positioning yourself as the GM until Bischoff heals, if he ever heals. Yes, I admire you for doing exactly what I would have done if I hadn't been so focused on the WCW championship. But. Cody, you come out here and you interrupt me and you challenge me to a match at the Bash at the Beach. You have all the power in the world at the moment and you come out here to challenge me to a three on three elimination tag match at the next PPV? You, quite literally, are in total control of what happens in WCW right now, and you mosey out here, weeks ahead of the Bash at the Beach, just to challenge me to a match? Well Cody, I can think of only two reasons why you would do that. Either you're WAY stupider than you look, and, let's be honest Cody, you look pretty stupid OR you've got some diabolic plan in the works and this is only the tip of the iceberg.
Cody looks discombobulated for a moment, as if Dolph has sniffed him out.
And while I do think that you're dumber than the average bear Cody, I don't think you decided to use your new found power just to come out here and challenge me to a nice, quaint, tame 3 on 3 tag match. But.
Dolph smiles to himself, and the crowd responds with a ripple of laughter.
But Cody, I've got bigger fish to fry at the moment. I've got Frankie Kazarian to deal with. I've got to hunt that bastard down and make him feel more pain than he's ever felt in his life. I've got to inflict vengeance on him for every punch and kick I took last night. For each bruise on my body today, Kaz will be repaid tenfold. But you're not Frank Kazarian are you Cody? As much as I'd love to come out of this ring, charge up that ramp, and beat that smirk from your face, it won't make me feel any better.
Dolph stares up at Cody in a tight lipped, emotionless mask.
You want your match at the Bash at the Beach Cody? You've got it. You want to grab a slow moving, inept Giant and whatever other lame ass superstar you have in mind and take me on? You got it. You bring your guys, I'll bring my guys and we'll have a good old fashioned slobber knocker. Blood will be spilled, bodies will be broken, and you'll have the match that you want Cody. But we both know that this isn't really what you have in mind. But I'll play along with you Cody, I'll play your mind games for a few weeks. I'll be like the rat in the maze chasing a piece of cheese that doesn't really exist. But.
I can't remember a time when I've seen Dolph this focused, this angry. He's usually a happy go lucky kind of guy, but since last night he seems so full of rage.
Well Bobby, I don't think I'd ever describe Ziggler as happy go lucky, but we certainly are seeing a new side of Dolph both last night in his verbal tirade against Kaz, and tonight in his interaction with Cody.
In exchange for being your guinea pig Cody, for bearing the brunt of your abuse of power, you're going to give me Kaz. You're going to give me Kaz next Monday. And next Monday. And next Monday. You're going to give me Kaz in a tables match. You're going to give me Kaz in an extreme rules match. You're going to give me Kaz in an I Quit match. Every week from now until The Bash at the Beach, you're going to give me Frankie Kazarian on a silver platter. And I'm going to feast. I'm going to dissect that bastard limb from limb, week to week. You give me Kaz, Cody, and I give you the match that you want. What do you say Cowboy? Are you ready to saddle up?

Cody quickly raises his mic and a look of anger passes over his face.
Cody
I'm sorry, did you become GM when I wasn't looking? I don't make deals Dolph, I make the rules. You don't demand anything from me. But I'll be completely honest with you, the thought of Kaz kicking your ass in several different situations gives me much joy. An extreme rules match? Tables match? I quit match!? Is it my birthday? If you really want to continue your losing streak even more, be my guest. For the next three week, you'll be battling Kazarian. But it won't always be on Nitro, oh no, you were right, I do have plans, big ones for you my friend and the best part is there's nothing you can do to stop it! Your first match with the infamous Kazarian will be this Thursday on Thunder! It will Dolph Ziggler vs. Kazarian in a . . . FLAMING tables match!
The arena fills with cheer as Cody claps his hands, praising himself. Dolph lets out a nervous laugh, putting his head in his hands as Rhodes continues.
Believe me Dolph, this is going to be a fun four weeks, and when we finally meet at Bash at the Beach, my team, will quite frankly, and for lack of a better word. . .KICK YOUR TEAMS ASS!
Rhodes throws the mic to the floor his face twitching, Ziggler shakes his head, dreading the following weeks. Cody's theme hits as the crowd burns with anticipation.
Heenan: My god, Dolph what were you thinking! Now Cody is getting what he wants and we have to watch my good friend Dolph suffer!
Tenay: Oh, don't worry too much, I'm sure Mr. Rhodes will go easy on him. At least I hope he does.

Well this is easy. Massive development, emotion and intensity all point to a killer promo. Taking into account everything that happened in this one promo it would be ridiculous for you to get anything less than full. - +5SP

Dolph Ziggler
Total Points = 4
This promo seems short but you have a bunch of huge chunks of text that really make it a lot longer than it seems. Dolph you and Cody might be the 2 most consistent and 2 best RP in all of WCW right now.
