Subject: Paul Wight Post Nitro Match Mon Jul 01, 2013 4:22 pm
Tenay: "Folks we are back live on Monday NITRO, and what a match up we have witnessed so far tonight here between The Giant Paul Wight, and the United States Champion Randy Orton."
Heenan: "A great match Tenay? A great match? I don't know if you have seen what's been happening here but Paul Wight is all over our champion! He is ruthless!"
Tenay: "Ruthless indeed Brain, but you know orton - he can strike at any moment, like a viper!"
The match continues on as Paul Wight continues to throw Orton around in the ring. The fans are getting tired as boo's start to reign down on Orton for displaying a lack of offense throughout this match. The match starts to get to a boiling point when Paul sends Orton flying over the top rope.
Heenan: "This is what I mean Tenay. Look at this - the ring is Paul's to lose. He has been in control like this all match!"
Paul Wight is now in the ring performing his classic chokeslam taunt. He raises his arm into the air and rotates in the middle of the ring - surveying the attitude of the crowd as they boo loudly.
Tenay: "Get up Orton! Come on! Heenan, The Giant may be controlling this match - but watch this! Paul isn't paying attention!"
Orton slides into the ring when Paul is looking in the opposite direction and starts pounding the mat with his knuckles. The crowd stands as they look towards the ring in awe.
Tenay: "Here it is Brain! You ready?!"
Paul Wight turns around to be met with an incoming Randy Orton leaping towards his neck. As Orton explodes into the air to grab Paul's neck for an RKO, Paul grabs him and throws him directly into the top turnbuckle - Randy's head bouncing violently off of it.
Heenan: "Oh I sure was ready for that Mikey. Maybe next time champ."
As Orton manages to get to his feet, he is met with a towering Paul Wight over his shoulder. Orton turns around only to be met with a football sized palm wrapped around his throat. After a few seconds, Orton is already 7 feet into the air, and after a few more seconds - on his way down with tremendous force behind him. When he hits the mat however - the crowd shrieks, and the fans that weren't out of their seats before now are. A huge tear can be heard as the fans stare on.
Heenan: "Haha! Not only were you wrong Mikey - but it seems like your choice just got chokeslammed through the ring right in front of us!"
Tenay: "Shut up Brain."
The ref looks at Orton and what just happened in front of his eyes and has no choice but to ring the bell. Paul Wight then looks at the ref, and fakes a punch which sends the ref sprinting out of the ring to the back. The Giant motions for a microphone which is quickly thrown at him as everyone ring side is now terrified of this giant. Paul Wight slowly walks back to the hole in which Orton is currently laying. He looks towards the camera and brings the mic to his lips.
Paul Wight: "You see last week here on Nitro - you saw me team up with John Morrison against both DDP and Rey Mysterio. If you were watching the whole way through, that means you also got to see me and John Morrison defeat both DDP, and Rey Mysterio. You see, this match didn't mean anything at all, or so I thought at first. You see, when I first was in the WCW and I was jobbing around to these punks, little Rey Rey beat me. That wasn't my choice however - business is business. But last week was much more than business. You see, I was on the winning team that defeated the TV Champion. You know what they say too though - good things happen to good people. I guess you can say that is why after I chokeslammed your General Manager Eric Bischoff off of the stage 2 weeks ago, I was handed a shot at the United States Championship."
The fans start drowning Paul Wight in boos, but he doesn't let them affect him. He shrugs them off and continues.
Paul Wight: "After being handed a title shot, I proceeded to defeat the TV Champion the next week on Nitro as you guys already know. Not only did I accomplish both those feats since putting Eric Bischoff out of commission, but tonight I defeated your United States champion to secure that title shot which will take place next week right here. Look at your champion now. Look at him! Next week - do you really think he is going to be able to compete at his best? I mean imagine it just being a one on one. You don't think I have the strength to do this again? Word in the back is that next week our match will take place in a steel cage. After this week - having me throwing Orton around in a steel cage sounds a little scary for him and his family. Don'tcha think?"
The crowd continues to boo, not fond on the idea that they could see Paul Wight their new champion next week on Nitro. Paul Wight looks at Randy Orton who is still motionless in the hole created by The Giant's chokeslam. He proceeds to walk over the top rope and walk up the ramp as his entrance music hits the PA system.
Heenan: "Very powerful words coming from the US Championship's number one contender, don't you think Tenay?"
Tenay: "I don't care what that man says on the mic, or what he does in the ring. I have no respect for him as a superstar, or a man - and quite frankly I hope that he loses next week on Nitro."
Heenan: "You're just a sore loser. What do you think Paul Wight is going to do if he really loses Tenay? He's hungry for that gold - I don't think he is going to stop at anything to get it."
The screen fades to black as the WCW crew members come down to rescue Orton and repair the ring.

You see, this was a great promo. You see, I like where you're going with this United States title feud. You see, a great use of the commentary team. You see, you said you see a lot.
