| Subject: The perfect opponent? Fri Dec 13, 2013 12:33 pm | |
| Curt Hennig is seen in the locker room with another great legend from the past, Mean Gene OkerlundMean Gene: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm standing by with one of professional wrestling's true greats, and one of this company's most legendary intercontinental champions, the one they call "Mr. Perfect", Curt Hennig. Curt, I'd just like to get your thoughts on the ladder match between Fandango and Cody Rhodes. This is matchup that will not only unify the US and Intercontinental championship belts, but it will also decide once and for all who you will face at Final Resolution. Hennig nods with a slight arrogant smirk across his faceCurt Hennig: Well, Mean Gene... let me say, first off, its great to see the only interviewer in the history of this company that I would call perfect. Even though you're wrinkly as a prune, i'd still rather talk to you than having to stand near that idiot Matt Striker or that clueless ditz, Maria Kanellis. Okerlund looks surprised by the compliment, but even more surprised by the insult that followed it upCurt Hennig: I have a few things i'd like to get off my chest here. If I may be so bold as to say this, I'm a little bit pissed off that I have to wait until those two halfwits have their catfight before I can know who my actual opponent is at Final Resolution. This is no way to treat perfection, Mean Gene. Mean Gene: Well, sir if I may be so bold to say it, you've been less than perfect in recent weeks. Since defeating Kurt Angle to earn your championship match, you've had a few hard fought losses. How do you ex- Hennig eyes Mean Gene and he shuts upCurt Hennig: I should have known you'd be senile by now, you old has been. I've simply been preserving my energy for the most important match since I've returned to this company. The only good part about having to wait through this ill conceived ladder match is the fact that whoever wins it will be so banged up by the end of it that they won't be able to defend their title with any kind of conviction at Final Resolution. And as far as resolutions go, I have one myself. I vow to prove to the world that I still have what it takes to outshine the competition at the grand stage, and that I still have what it takes to be the best damn champion this company has ever seen. Keep trying to climb that ladder to super stardom, Fandango and Cody Rhodes. I'll be at the top waiting to kick you back down each and every time. There won't be any dancing going on for Fandango, and there won't be any floozies waiting around the corner for a mustachioed creep like Cody Rhodes. The only thing you'll see after the match at Final Resolution, is the perfect intercontinental champion standing over a heap of garbage that did nothing but tarnish the legacy of one of the greatest titles in the history of this industry. Hennig walks off, looking confidentMean Gene: Well there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, a very confident Curt Hennig. Will his prediction prove to be perfect, or will the winner of the ladder match continue to ascend to the top of this business? There's only one way to find out. We'll see you at Final Resolution!
