Curt Hennig makes his way down to the ringside area to kick off Monday Night Raw, with the standard mixed reaction from the fans in attendance
JR King, some people may not like him, but when the stakes were high Curt Hennig was perfect on Smackdown, taking out Kurt Angle with the PerfectPlex.
King Doesn't anybody remember a couple of weeks ago when Angle defeated Hennig, JR? As far as I'm concerned Hennig still hasn't proved anything.
Hennig spits out his gum and slaps it out of the air with his right hand before he motions for a mic, as a slightly out of place Miz is Awesome chant rings throughout the arena
Hennig Pay attention, you halfwits. The only person you should be chanting for is standing in this ring. Not because I want you to, but because i'm the only athlete worth looking up to in this joint. If you don't believe me, why don't you just ask our good friend, Kurt Angle? Not only could he be Mr. Clean's stunt double, but he's also going a long way to ensuring he'll never be in the Olympics again.
"You both suck" is the response from the fans.
JR These fans are certainly loud tonight, King!
Hennig There seems to be a fine line between hatred and jealousy in this arena tonight. Do you people dislike me for being perfect, or yourselves for being subpar? Getting back to the point, Kurt Angle proved to the world that he can't take me when i'm at one-hundred percent. Any doubt I ever had about being able to surpass him is long gone now. Angle, you can have your worthless gold medal. Here in WCF it means absolutely nothing. Right now i'm on my way to winning some real gold, and you're on your way to the supermarket to buy Rogaine with Goldberg and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Hennig The fact of the matter is, Angle, no matter how much of a competitor you are, no matter how much of a great athlete you may be, there's no way you're on my level. And there's certainly no way you'd make a better intercontinental champion than me.
JR It sounds like Hennig is forgetting about the actual current champion, Johnny Curtis.
King Yeah, well lately it seems like Curtis is forgetting everything, so maybe its contagious or something.
Hennig Which leads me to my next point... Johnny Curtis. Wow, impressive victory at Survivor Series, kid. Wait, why am I even bothering to talk about you, Curtis? You'll either forget about this entirely or start weeping in the back. I think this company deserves a champion that has a better memory than that of a goldfish. Maybe somebody with a little more backbone. I'm that guy, whether you like it or not, people.
JR He could be right, but until he backs up everything hes saying, these fans aren't going to listen.
Hennig So I just want to put a bit more emphasis on this before I get out of this lousy city. Kurt Angle, you're nothing but a memory to me. And Curtis, well, you don't even have a memory to speak of. Soon enough you'll all come to recognize me as the PERFECT Intercontinental Champion, and this company will be better for it.
Hennig turns to exit the ring while the subsequent cheers and boos rain down, but he is interrupted by a familiar song

JR: And here comes Angle, the man defeated by Curt Hennig on Smackdown.
Kurt Angle makes his way out from the back, he is clearly not too happy. The crowd has a few cheers, but mostly boos as Angle walks down the ramp, and slides into the ring. Mic in hand, he begins to speak
Kurt: Curt, you must have taken a bad drop at some point, cause you're out of you damn mind! Oh it's true that you beat me on Smackdown, but something seems to have slipped out of that small mind of yours.
The crowd begins chanting "You Both Suck!" once again, Angle pauses and lets them go for a few seconds before beginning to speak again
Kurt: You see, Curt, by my count, and I'm not usually wrong with simple math...is that we are tied up at one win apiece. And I'm not out here to blame my lose on being under one-hundred percent, Curt.
The crowd now begins a new chant, "You're both losers!"
Kurt: I'm out here to challenge you to one more match! Right here tonight on RAW!
For the first time tonight, the crowd cheers for the two men in the ring
JR: I think it's pretty clear that even though the crowd dislikes both of these men, they would like to see a rubber match.
King: And who wouldn't want to see it, JR! These two have taken each other to the limit both times!
Kurt: Now Hennig. This has nothing to do with the Intercontinental Title. That damn title doesn't me anything to me! I want to FIGHT you...not wrestle you...fight you and settle the score, once and for all. That's why you may notice something up in the rafters...
The camera pans out, and moves up high to reveal a steel cage
JR: Baw God, Angle wants to fight Hennig tonight, in the steel cage!
The crowd is sending down all cheers, as they are excited at the possibility of a cage match
Kurt: Tonight, Curt...why don't you prove to everyone, that you are in fact Mr. Perfect. Step into that cage, and FIGHT me, in a two out of three falls match to finally prove who is the best!
This sends the crowd into a frenzy, showing their approval of the potential match
JR: Angle, officially challenging Hennig, to a Steel Cage, Two out of Three falls match here tonight on RAW!
King: As much as we would all love to see it, I have high doubts that Mr. Perfect will accept. In his mind, he has nothing to prove to anyone!

Hennig stares coldly at Angle for a few seconds as the crowd waits in anticipation of his response
JR I don't know what to expect from Hennig right now, King. This match could have injury written all over it, and this coming just a few weeks before his match with Johnny Curtis for the coveted Intercontinental Championship!
King Can you feel the tension in this arena, JR? These guys despise each other even more than the WCF universe despises them!
Hennig picks his mic back up and with a scowl, replies
Hennig You'd better thing long and hard about what you've just asked for, cueball. These idiots in the stands know damn well who the better man is between us. Why risk your career in a futile attempt at revenge against me? I think you need to take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself if your priorities are straight right now, Angle. You have nothing to gain from this match, and neither do I. So my answer, naturally is -
Angle can be heard yelling "What are you some kinda pussy!?" Although he is not yelling into the mic, everyone in attendance hears it and a collective ohhh reverberates throughout the arena
JR We apologize for that ladies and gentlemen...
Hennig Angle, I was going to offer you an easy way out of this tonight, but that little remark is going to be the straw that broke your back. There won't be anywhere for you to run in this match, Angle. And that's by your own design. You asked for this match to be within a cage. And I just want to make sure you understand this baldy... you won't be able to win by escaping the cage, so it's just you and I in there until one man is the clear loser, and -
"You're both losers" chimes in from the fans again Hennig looks from side to side, visibly annoyed
Hennig It will be you and I one on one until one man is ultimately declared the loser... the lesser man. You could have had this easy and just accepted it, but if it has to escalate to this level here tonight, Angle... then all I can say is, I accept!
the fans erupt in cheers at this announcement
JR Unbelieveable! What a match tonight on Raw!
King I didn't know if Hennig would risk this tonight. JR! Maybe we're not giving these guys enough credit!
JR I give them both all the credit in the world, but that doesn't mean I have to like them personally!
Angle is smiling smugly with this news, and slowly backs up the ramp chuckling a little bit as he goes Hennig Savor that smile, Angle, because it will be the last you have in a long time. After I take you out in two straight falls, nobody will want to see your chrome dome anymore anyway, Kurt. When all is said and done, just remember that this was your idea all along. I won't be held responsible.
JR I can't wait for this explosive matchup, later tonight on Monday Night Raw!
Hennig's music cues in and the fans are buzzing as the show cuts to commercial
