As Raw comes back from commercial break the image of Josh Mathews joined by the new United States Champion Cody Rhodes appears on the titantron. The fans are already booing loudly as Josh begins his interview.
Josh
Hello everyone my name is Josh Mathews and I'm joined at this time by the new United States Champion, Cody Rhodes! And Cody, can you. . . Explain your actions at the start of the show?
Cody smirks before leaning in to talk.
Cody
My actions. . . My. . . Actions. You want to know why I did what I did, Josh? Why Kazarian was attacked last night at Summerslam and then again tonight? You want to know why Stephanie McMahon was raising my hand at the start of the show, is that what you want to know, Josh? It's because I'm a winner. I'm a champion. I'm THE United States Champion! And Kaz failed to see that. As did Mr. Daniels. But you know who didn't, Josh? Stephanie didn't. All of those weeks leading up to Summerslam I kept quiet. Is he leaving? Is he being made to keep his mouth shut? Questions buzzed around the WCF universe, spreading like a wild fire. Until I put that fire out. I wasn't keeping quiet. I was building something. You see, after Drew got injured and was unable to compete in his Summerslam match, I realized that I didn't want to go down that road again. Being dragged down by Drew, kept from the spotlight that I deserve to be in. So I began planning. I made phone calls, I set meetings, I sent out tweets. I tweeted to all of my twitters that it was my time. #Cody'sTime. King couldn't have been a better sponsor to get my message out. So after all that planning, after meeting people, my project finally began to take shape. I only needed one more thing. Stephanie McMahon. It's not by blind luck that MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Christian got contracts all at the same time. It's not by blind luck that they interfered in my Summerlslam match. It's not by blind luck that I'm the United States Champion. It's my hard work FINALLY paying off. My project isn't finished, Josh. It's only just begun. This is my legacy, this. . . Is my. . . Enterprise.
Cody leans back and takes a deep breath, looking right into the camera. Josh clears his throat before asking his next question.
Josh
So. . . This Enterprise, is it. . .
Rhodes puts his hand over Josh's mic and lowers it down slowly, taking it from him once it's down.
Cody
Josh, enough questions. I said what-
Cody's jaw drops as the camera spins around to show Dusty Rhodes standing behind it, shaking his head.
Dusty:
Hard work? You call that hard work, boy?
Cody gulps as his father begins to walk over to him. Once the two are face to face, Dusty lets out a small sigh.
Dusty:
You're pathetic.
As soon as Dusty says that he lets out a thunderous right hook, smashing Cody in the jaw causing him to fall back into a supply crate. Dusty towers over Cody now, getting in his face.
Dusty:
What happened to my son?
With that Dusty shakes his head once more, getting up and walking off, leaving the hurt Cody to be tended to by a nearby ref.
-Later on in the Bill Waters vs. Dusty Rhodes match-
King:
Oh man, what a dropkick by Bill Waters! Dusty has really had it handed to him in this match!
J.R.:
Well what do you expect, King? Dusty hasn't been in the ring in over six months, and after that altercation between him and his son, Cody Rhodes earlier tonight, a lot has to be going through his mind.
King:
Excuses, excuses, J.R. It's- Wait a second, in the crowd, look, look!
J.R.:
What, what!? Oh wait, is that- No, what's he doing out here!?
Off to the corner the camera catches a glimpse of Cody Rhodes, charging through the roaring fans, heading straight for the ring. Bill and Dusty don't notice him just yet, but King and J.R. sure do.
King:
Run Cody, run!
J.R.:
Stop Cody, stop! You don't belong out here, stop jeering him on, King!
Rhodes finally makes it to the barricade wall and hops over it, landing feet first on the concrete. Dusty is the first to take notice as he stops punching Bill who's backed up in the corner. Cody walks up to the ring and begins to shout at his father, trying to distract him. It works, as Dusty moves over to the ring ropes and points down at Cody, shouting back at him. Bill wastes no time in trying to take advantage, walking up behind Dusty and spinning him around. But no! Dusty was expecting it, he lifts Bill up and slams him down, running off the ropes and clashing his elbow down onto Bill's torso.

The bell rings and Cody is dumbfounded, shaking his head and shouting at the referee. He paces back and forth on the outside of the ring as Dusty celebrates inside. Cody looks up at his father and the two share a stare down before Dusty waves to him, letting him know it's time to go.
